Lots of excitement is on the way from September 22 to October 20, when the Lormar Endurance activity events will take place at Fairview Farm, 60km outside Middelburg on the dirt road to Richmond.In 1965 an Arabian thoroughbred named Lorraine of Kismet Riding Stud won the gruelling 127 mile horse marathon between Hanover, De Aar and Richmond in the semi-desert Karoo; hence the name Lormar Endurance. Today this tradition is shared at Fairview with mountain bikers, trail runners and of course horses.First off is the Lormar Endurance Trail Run. Explore the Karoo by foot, running along “sheeptrails” over mountains, past Khoi San paintings and across dam walls. The Lormar Trail Run is a 2-day run from 22-23 September.Next up is the Lormar Endurance MTB Tour a unique three-day mountain bike experience in the heart of the Karoo from 28-30 September. The Tour entails riding along 200 year old stone walls, on smooth “sheeptracks” and passing the familiar windpomp scenes along the wayLastly we go to the Lormar Endurance roots. Lormar will host it’s fourth FEI Endurance Horse event! There will be an 80km, 120km 160km ride to choose from. The events will take place from 19-20 October 2018. Choose your discipline and be part of a true Karoo experience! First off is the Lormar Endurance Trail Run. Participants will be able to explore the Karoo by foot, running along “sheeptrails” over mountains, past Khoi San paintings and across dam walls. The Lormar Trail Run is a two-day run from September 22 to 23.
Next up is the Lormar Endurance MTB Tour, a unique three-day mountain bike experience in the heart of the Karoo from September 28 to 30.
The tour entails riding along 200-year-old stone walls, on smooth “sheeptracks” and passing the familiar windmill scenes along the way.
Lastly, Lormar will host its fourth FEI Endurance Horse event.
There will be 80km, 120km 160km rides to choose from.
The events will take place from October 19 to 20. Choose your discipline and be part of a true Karoo experience.
