AME church holds conference in Cradock

THE local congregation (Darie Mae Robinson Chapel) of the African Methodist Episcopal Church in Cradock is hosting the Eastern Cape annual conference, which started yesterday, September 26, and runs until Sunday, September 30.


THE local congregation (Darie Mae Robinson Chapel) of the African Methodist Episcopal Church in Cradock is hosting the Eastern Cape annual conference, which started yesterday, September 26, and runs until Sunday, September 30.

All the congregations within the Eastern Cape will converge to give accounts of their performance with regard to the missions of the church.

The local church will also be receiving and welcoming delegates to Cradock for this annual conference today, Thursday September 27.

Members of the community are invited to join the congregation for the worship, welcoming and opening services.

The conference will be attended by the prelate of the 15th episcopal district, Bishop DR Daniels, and the episcopal supervisor, Mother IM Daniels, presiding elders of the five districts, namely Karoo, Graaff-Reinet, King William’s Town, Port Elizabeth North and Port Elizabeth South Districts, conference officers and all leadership of the various departments and auxiliaries.

The programme for the week entails worship services, hour of power, presentations, art and craft exhibition, health promotion activities, benevolence service to distressed families from the local community as part of Operation Bread, youth activities and women empowerment activities.
