BEDFORD Country School learners recently took part in the DSG Music Festival where they were some of the youngest participants.

The whole Grade 3 class played Somewhere Over the Rainbow on the ukulele and sang along.

Jenna Theron, Shannon Hobson and Bella de Villiers showed nerves of steel when they sang solo songs, while James Hobson and Jacques Prudhon stood out on the violin.

The guitar group also performed three pieces of music.

“The comprehensive class music programme at Bedford Country School gives our children the opportunity to acquire many skills which are so important for their holistic development,” said principal Ammie Pringle.

She thanked the teachers, Berna van Niekerk and Michaela van Blerk, for all the time and effort they put in.
