A BRAND-new bakery in Lingelihle near Cradock, aiming to provide freshly baked goods seven days a week, also wants to create employment and better living conditions in the town.
According to Moses Mbana, managing director of “Soft Touch Bakery”, they are committed to provide a touch of home and give their customers their best bread at affordable prices.
The five community members, three women and two men, all residing in Lingelihle, came together to debate how to develop the economy and create jobs, and eventually, after much thought, decided to start the Soft Serve Bakery.
Mbana said they would be delivering bakery and pastry products during business hours all week long and that they undertake to have fresh muffins, rolls, cakes, pastries and even ice cream available at all times.
Business hours will be 05:00-15:00 from Monday to Friday, 07:30-12:00 on Saturdays, and 05:00-9:30 on Sundays.
They aim to bake six to eight batches of bread per day to assure that clients will receive fresh bread every time.
