Cradock Round Table 37 brings winter relief to needy

CRADOCK Round Table 37 will once again hold their Winter Knights collection for the less fortunate members of the community.

CRADOCK Round Table 37 will once again hold their Winter Knights collection for the less fortunate members of the community.

A collection of blankets, clothes, cash and non-perishable foods like packets of soup, rice, sugar and porridge will be held on June 6 in the Spar parking area from 17:00 onwards.

The initial concept of Winter Knights originated as a social experiment with Tablers having to spend a few hours in winter, wearing light clothing, experiencing first-hand the freezing cold conditions suffered by so many less fortunate people.

It was hoped that members of the different communities would come forth with blankets and old clothing, which the Tablers could use to keep warm and then once the project was concluded, donate to worthy causes.

The project has evolved over the years, with many clubs showing great initiative and forward-thinking in their approach – everything from trolleys being filled at shopping malls and door-to-door collections to corporate donations, creating campaigns with big corporates and finally initiatives that evoke the passion of entire towns to rally behind the Winter Knights campaigns.

Round Table Southern Africa is also proud to announce that Toyota once again indicated that they would be partnering Round Table South Africa in support of this great initiative.

Since the inception of this project, Cradock Round Table 37 has received enormous support from the community with donations received.

These donations are normally distributed to various needy beneficiaries within the community of Cradock and will be decided upon once the collection has been completed.

Cradock Round Table 37 again wishes to humbly request the assistance of the whole of the community to come and support this worthy cause by joining them on 6 June.

Donations can either be placed in trolleys provided or handed to Tablers.

If any donation is too big to deliver, a Cradock Round Table 37 member will gladly come and collect it from the donor’s house.
