ROAD users should take note of the fact that SANRAL is upgrading the R67 between Fort Beaufort and Seymour. Those travelling between Komani and Grahamstown should add some extra time to their travelling schedule, as there are bound to be some delays due to stop/go points.

The upgrade covers a total of 40km and may well be completed only after the Easter weekend.

The upgrade already recorded its first accident this past Saturday when a taxi transporting churchgoers collided with another vehicle close to the Baddaford farmstall.

Both vehicles landed in a ditch but fortunately no one was seriously injured.

The delay at stop/go points may last up to 10 minutes or even more.

Motorists are required to exercise patience and be extremely vigilant during the duration of the upgrade. SANRAL recently upgraded the section of the R67 at the Nico Malan Pass near Seymour and is also currently upgrading the section of the road between Whittlesea and Komani.
