A YOUNG Fort Beaufort-born businessman has been appointed by Heineken Breweries as their manager for Port Elizabeth and the surrounding areas.
This is one of the company’s top jobs nationally.
Ashley Venter (28), son of Desireé and Nolan Venter of Fort Beaufort, is the youngest candidate to fill this post in the history of the well-established company.
Venter received his primary school education at Hertzog Primary School, where his father was principal and his mother was foundation phase educator.
He later also attended Fort Beaufort Primary School and matriculated from Winterberg Agricultural High School, where he played cricket and rugby.
He studied at Nelson Mandela University, where he obtained his national diploma in business management, BTech in business management as well as a post graduate business admin degree.
He was employed by SAB for eight months before joining Heineken where he has been employed since February 2016.
In his previous position as sales representative, he was servicing the top 10 customers of Heineken which included Tops at Spar, Big Daddy’s, Shoprite/Checkers and Pick n Pay.
He follows in the footsteps of his elder sister, Rowelna, who was appointed media relations co-ordinator for Fifa in 2010.
An elated Venter said that he was looking forward to his new challenge, which will start on May 1.
