ON Tuesday, June 19, a friendly netball game was played between Grootfontein College of Agriculture and a mixed team from Middelburg High School.
The Grootfontein players, coached by Nothando Smith-Mlele, were very excited about the opportunity to play against the local high school team.
Dressed in their brand new outfits, proudly sponsored by 2017 ASATI president Sandile Nzuza, the Grootfontein team competed well against the mixed team of the school. The final score was 29-24 in favour of Grootfontein.
Both teams are already looking forward to play another match next term against each other.
For the Grootfontein team, this will also be a challenging exercise to prepare the players for the SA Agricultural Colleges Netball tournament which takes place in Potchefstroom from September 28 to October 6.
