Komani
Royals Cricket Club is on top form this season in the Border Cricket
Promotional League, winning all their games.

The
Anathi Joe-captained side is a team on a mission this season. The only loss the Royals has suffered thus far this season is the toss and yet they have made
that work in their favor.

Last Sunday Royals welcomed Alice Cricket Club at the Queen’s College Wilkinson
cricket field.

Alice
won the toss and chose to set the tone, but the Royals bowlers were in no mood
to dance in Alice’s tune.

Reinhardt Stride (3 wickets) and Ntsika Simayile (2
wickets) were men on a mission and had the batters in tatters very early in the
game, taking wickets regularly and superbly supported by probably the best
fielding display thus far this season.

Captain
Anathi Joe (3 wickets) and Janse van fer Ryst (2 wickets) stuck to the plan and landed the killer punches as the quartet bowled Gwaba for a low tally of 85 in
16 overs.

For
a second it looked like Royals batting was going to suffer the same fate up
until youngster Ryan Denston (42 not out), who opened the batting, finished what
he started and got the team over the line in less than 11 overs.

Royals
are now sitting on top of the log standings of the Border Cricket Promotional
League with a game in hand, followed by Hams Cricket Club of East London.

They
will play their next game in East London against Kwelerha Cricket Club at
Bunkers Hill on Sunday, February 19.
