Komani’s Dumpy Adams to host district play-offs

The South African Football Association in the Chris Hani District has announced that Dumpy Adams Sports Complex in Komani will host this year’s SAB Regional League District Play-offs between Xalanga Blues and MK Academy.

The South African Football Association in the Chris Hani District has announced that Dumpy Adams Sports Complex in Komani will host this year’s SAB Regional League District Play-offs between Xalanga Blues and MK Academy.

This deciding game between the two teams will be played on Sunday, June 12, at 13:00.

SAFA Chris Hani head of competition, Melikhaya Mdingi, said they decided to take the game to Dumpy Adams Sports Complex in Komani to accommodate both teams.

“We had problems with our fields in the region and that affected the season very badly. But we are delighted to announce that the game will take place this weekend and that will help the winning team time to prepare for the provincial play-offs. Dumpy Adams Sports Complex was the suitable field that we agreed on and the field will help both teams to play a good game of football,” said Mdingi.

Xalanga Blues, from Cala in the Sakhisizwe Local Municipality, became the champions of Chris Hani SAB Regional League Stream A, after a long, testing season.

The side from Xalanga Village in Cala will be playing in the district play-offs for the second year in a row.

They were beaten in the same stage by Seven Stars of Komani, at Lady Frere Stadium in Cacadu, last season.

Seven Stars went on to win promotion to the ABC Motsepe League in Gqeberha after that game that game and Blues will be hoping for the same path going into the game.

MK Academy from Dongwe Location in the Enoch Mgijima Local Municipality won Chris Hani SAB Regional League Stream B with one game to play at the end of the season.

If the side from Whittlesea wins the game, it will not be their first time playing in the provincial play-offs, as they represented the district twice in the Nedbank Cup SAB League Provincial Play-offs in Mthatha and Aliwal North in recent seasons.
