A MATRICULANT at Cradock High School, Iviwe Booysen, was awarded the privilege of attending the Young Falcons Aviation Winter Camp during the recent school holidays.

This camp was hosted by the South African Air Force and is aimed at helping students improve on their overall marks with special attention given to mathematics and science.

The camp took place in Komani (Queenstown) from July 1 to 14.

As part of the programme, learners attended mathematics, physical sciences, life orientation, engineering, English and pilots’ history classes.

They had study sessions, as well as physical training and drills.

Examinations were also written at the end of the camp and Iviwe was fortunate enough to be one of only six students, out of roughly 140 in attendance, to receive an award at the closing gala ceremony.

He received the trophy for most participating young falcon male.

Cradock High School applauded Iviwe’s commitment to education and praised him for attending the development programme to assist him in his schoolwork while everyone else enjoyed their holiday.
