IN celebration of Library Week, the Somerset East community held a district event on March 7, which was organised by Sandra Scheepers, the librarian at the Langenhoven Library, and her helpers.
The theme of Library Week, which took place from March 16 to 23, was “Libraries: Heart of the Community”.
The local library hosted build-up programmes at different locations in an effort to prepare all the learners who were set to take part in the competitions for the district event on March 7.
The build-up programmes included a Research Rush for Grade 7 learners, Maths 24 for Grade 9 learners and book discussion for Grade 11 learners.
Finally, the district event took place at the Jakes Gerwel Hall.
