THE Masons of Meridian Lodge 1469 recently held a very successful charity golf day in Cradock.
Lots of prizes were won and the proceeds of the day were donated to the Cradock Animal Shelter.
“This was our fourth annual golf day and we are proud to say that thus far on all occasions, every participant has received a prize.
“We are definitely aiming at keeping to this standard on all future golf days as well,” said Carlos de Goveia, secretary of Meridian Lodge 1469.
The lodge has also been holding rib and chip evenings throughout last year to collect money to assist needy people in the community.
They also have a tent set up during the Fish River Canoe Marathon each year where they sell burgers, chips, calamari and combo meals, during the event.
“We get a lot of support from not just the local canoers and those from out of town, but also our locals who attend the marathon,” said De Goveia.
“We would like to express our sincere thanks to all the sponsors who supported us so well, namely Dunlop, Cradock Bande, Redemption Ink, Dynamic, Wimpy Cradock, Duvenage Kabinetmakers, Metcalf and Co Attorneys, Norton and Smith Attorneys, De Jager and Lordan Attorneys, More 4 Less, Steers, Jaco Grobler, Supa Quick, Bergman and Adam, Oasis Kafee, Adami’s, Agri Bearings (Gary), The Irelander B&B, Amanzi Irrigation, Buffalo Dan’s, Kommetjies Bar, Lowie Steenkamp, PG Glass and Mid-Karoo Express.”
