SIX members of Mystic Wolves Taekwondo Club in Cradock recently represented the club and the Eastern Cape at the SAKMAA national championships in Potchefstroom.

As a group, Dwayne de Beer, Dylan Watling, Lushan Gardner, Annemie Blom, Michelle van Straaten and instructor Brendon Fletcher, brought back 18 medals from the competition.

“They pretty much dominated in every category that they took part in, including first-time events that they did not even train for, such as combat weapons, which is an American Taekwondo speciality. They trained hard and it paid off. I would like to congratulate each and every one of them,” Fletcher said.

They will be attending the CHR national in March next year for final selections to attend the World Championships in Brazil.

“The dedication of the students is unprecedented. We would like to extend our thanks to Karoo Brew for providing us with a vehicle to get to Potchefstroom, as well as Deon Venter from Cradock Dry Cleaners, Adam from Adams se Gat and Buffalo Dans for their contributions.”

Mystic Wolves are also preparing to host the official opening of their new dojang soon.

They will be offering training time slots during the day from 06:00 to 17:00 for one-on-one training sessions, self defence, cardio and aerobic training, and CrossFit.
