ALAN Hobson, chairperson of Blue Crane Tourism has arranged for SANRAL (South African Road Agency) to conduct a workshop at Somerset East in order to explain their policies regarding street and road signs, as well as what the legal requirements for these are. This workshop will take place on 27 March at 10:30 at the Langenhoven Library.

According to Ros Turner, Tourism Officer, this has come about as Governmental authorities have been contacting several businesses requesting evidence that they have approval for their advertisements on sign posts with directions in town or the main routes through town.

It is in the interest of everybody concerned to attend this workshop as it is clear that the authorities intend removing any signage that is not compliant to their specifications.

Should interested people wish to attend this important workshop, please contact Ros at bluecranetourism@telkomsa.net or contact her by telephone on 042 243 1448 or cell 073 698 6539 as she needs a number to work on in order to arrange for refreshments.
