BRITTANY Phillips, a young somatologist, who studied in Stellenbosch and then went to the prestigious Nanita Dolton Clinic in Pretoria for further study, has settled in Cradock where she has opened her Skin4Life medical aesthetic clinic in the Family Medical Centre at the corner of Hospital and Victoria Streets.

“After training with Isa Carstens in Stellenbosch, I got very good experience in Pretoria as Nanita Dolton was nominated as best medical aesthetic clinic in South Africa for three years in a row,” Phillips said.

Her field of expertise includes skin care, the prevention of skin aging, prevention of skin cancers, pigmentation and also peeling of the skin to get rid of acne and other scars.

“I teach my clients to look after their skin; it is after all the biggest organ of the body,” she added.

“In our harsh climate, it is very important for a woman to look after her hands, also, as they do give away her age very quickly.”

Phillips is also expecting a number of men to book treatments, as the majority of them have never looked after their skin properly and are more exposed to the sun than women.

“Men now also realise the dangers of the sun and the importance of looking after their skin.

“I can also remove acne scars on the chest and back for men as we actually peel off skin right down to undamaged skin underneath.”

At the Skin4Life clinic, a skin consultation is initially given so that the correct treatment can be decided upon.

Different kinds of facials to rejuvenate and deep cleanse and skin peeling, according to a client’s requirements, are then performed.

Phillips also plans to invest in equipment like hair removal lazers as soon as her practice gets off the ground.
